Magnetic Connect — 2019

Ensayos members Caitlin Franzmann, Christy Gast and Camila Marambio undertook a collective research trip to Yunbenun (Magnetic Island) from 10-28 September. We travelled in our van 'Big Mamma' working with new collaborators along the way, including, ichthyologist, Lynne van Herwerden. Findings from our residency, such as impacts of microplastics on the foodweb, were presented at the close of our exhibition at Milani CARPARK Gallery.

Gradual Change — 2019

Man Cheung and I presented works resulting from our explorations of Logan parklands and nature reserves in an exhibition at Logan Art Gallery from 21 June – 27 July 2019. I programmed a series of events during the exhibition, including a photography workshop, divination readings, a film screening and a great debate.

I have a work in a group exhibition, ¢ompo$t, curated by Lucy Bleach and Nadège Philippe-Janon for Dark Mofo 2019. The exhibition is within the depths of Old Hobart Blood Bank & Merchant Store, opening on Thursday 6 June, 5–9pm.

Temperature Rising — 2019

I will be offering Fortunes of the Forest card readings during a weekend of 'Conversation Starters'on Climate Change, 1-2 June, at Museum of Contemporary Art. Group sessions will also be on offer.

Mirror Mine — 2019

I will be presenting a new installation commissioned for the exhibition 'Mirror Mine' curated by John Edmond. The work will be exhibited at Outerspace ARI from 10 May - 24 May, Thursday to Sunday, 10am - 2pm. ‘Mirror Mine’ examines mining through my work and the work of internationally renowned artist Ben Russell.

Ensayos Residency — 2018

In December I joined an Ensayos Coastal Curriculum research trip in Tierra del Fuego, from which ongoing research will continue in Australia. Ensayos is a feminist research program through which artists, social scientists, natural scientists, and local agents contemplate and engage in matters related to the political ecology of Tierra del Fuego and, more broadly, urgent matters relating to climate change.

A Plant is a Community — 2018

As a part of Liquid Architecture's program in the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens, I will be offering plant based divination readings alongside seed based tea served by Dhana Merritt. This is a part of our ongoing collaborative project Mutual Making. The event is on Saturday 3rd from 1pm-5pm

Material Sound — 2018

My work 'Drawn Together, Held Apart' is being shown at MAMA in 'Material Sound' curated by Caleb Kelly. Material Sound brings together 6 contemporary artists who each create an experience of sound within installations and apparatus constructed from everyday materials. The exhibition runs from the 9th February-29 April. As a part of the opening weekend, I performed a series of conversations around the table drawing from Ursula K. Le Guin's essay 'Telling is Listening'. Film Still by Vault Nine Productions.

Art in Soil — 2017

'Unspecified Soilings' involved a series of events at a green space in Kelvin Grove that I facilitated in collaboration with Kate Woodcroft. The project explores the causal links between soil health and human health. Documentation and reflections on this project will be exhibited alongside other artists that have been a part of the six month Art in Soil Initiative, curated by Carol Schwarzman and Renata Buziak. The exhibition opens 6pm, 14th December at POP Gallery, Woolloongabba.

Karawatha AiR — 2017

From May-November I am Artist-in-Residence at Karawatha Forest Discovery Centre. I will be making new work drawn from my walks in the forest and conversations with local community and visitors. I will also be updating an artist blog, holding open studio days and running events and workshops during the six months.

QFF — 2017

I enjoyed creating the artwork for Queensland Film Festival promotional material this year.  QFF director, John Edmond, and I have also co-curated a short film screening at Karawatha Forest Discovery Centre on 24 June 2017 and I will be talking at the Film X Art panel at 5:30pm on Monday 17 July 2017.

Green Screen — 2016

In September, I presented an off-site experimental film screening and audiovisual performance with Dale Gorfinkel and Ross Manning as a part of IMA's Green Screen Program. The short films (co-curated with John Edmond) and performance offered an insight into the my process and thinking in relation to the historical artefacts and materials uncovered at The Foundry, a 19th century warehouse located in the residential slopes of Red Hill, Brisbane. A further iteration of the project will be presented at the IMA in early 2017.

Tree-telling — 2016

I’ve hand panted six divination cards and created six sonic compositions, each corresponding to a tree in the Queen Victoria Gardens surrounding MPavilion. I will be at MPavilion awaiting visitors for one-on-one readings at the following times:

Mon 18 - Wed 20 Jan - 12-3pm
Thu 21 - Sat 23 Jan - 10am-1pm
Sun 24 Jan - 12-3pm
